Ghanaian TikTok star Osanju dies suddenly after battle with Leukemia

Popular Ghanaian TikTok creator and influencer, Osanju Frimpong Elvis, widely known as Osanju, has reportedly passed away.

The sad news was first reported by Gossips24tv in an Instagram post on Monday, September 1, 2025, which read:

“Ghanaian content creator and influencer, Osanju, is dead. He unfortunately passed on last night after watching a football match of his favourite team, Barcelona.”

Circumstances of His Death

According to reports, Osanju went to bed on Sunday, August 31, after watching Barcelona’s 1–1 La Liga draw with Rayo Vallecano but tragically never woke up. Clips from his social media showed him actively engaging with fans shortly after the game. Although visibly disappointed with his team’s performance, he appeared healthy and energetic.

His sudden passing, coming only hours after his last online activity, has shocked fans and social media users across Ghana and beyond.

Health Struggles and Battle with Illness

While the official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, Osanju had previously disclosed his struggle with a blood-related illness, suspected to be leukaemia. In one of his candid TikTok videos, he revealed:

“My blood is clotting, and I'm yet to figure out what is causing this. I’m running some tests, the quality clotting profile test. I hope everything turns out great.”

He also opened up about the financial strain his treatment placed on him:

“It got to a point where the treatment had become expensive, and I had to sell my personal belongings to pay for my medical bills. Through TikTok, I met some kind people who donated money to help me buy my medicines.”

Reports from Close Friends

According to YEN.com.gh, Osanju was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after complaining of a severe headache but sadly passed away shortly after arrival.

A close friend revealed that just three days before his death, she held his hand and noticed how heavy and painful it felt, possibly due to not taking his medication.

Osanju’s passing comes only five months after the funeral of his mother, Veronica Frimpong, popularly known as “Amonu”, who died in January 2025.

The double loss has left his family and supporters heartbroken.
