In a notice dated March 15, 2026, the embassy explained that the move forms part of precautionary measures by the Government of Ghana after an earlier advisory issued on March 6, 2026, regarding the changing security situation.
According to the statement, the evacuation arrangement will be strictly a one-way operation from Qatar to Ghana.

The embassy therefore called on Ghanaians currently residing in Qatar who wish to take part in the evacuation to reconfirm their interest by submitting the biodata page of their passports via email.
Interested individuals are required to send the requested details to doha@mfa.gov.gh no later than Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
Officials emphasized that the evacuation plan is being organised as a precautionary step in response to the heightened security concerns in parts of the Middle East.
The announcement comes at a time when growing security tensions across the region have prompted several governments to review contingency arrangements for their citizens living abroad.
