West Ham United have confirmed the departure of men’s first-team head coach Nuno Espírito Santo with immediate effect following a review of the club’s performance at the start of the EFL Championship season.
The club announced the decision in an official statement, explaining that the Board of Directors believes a change in leadership is necessary to keep West Ham United on track to achieve their objectives and expectations for the season.
Alongside Nuno Espírito Santo, Assistant Head Coach Rui Pedro Silva and Goalkeeper Coach Rui Barbosa have also left their respective positions.
West Ham United thanked the three members of the coaching staff for their hard work and commitment during their time at the club while wishing them well in their future endeavors.
The club also confirmed that the search for a new head coach is already underway as they begin the process of finding a permanent replacement for Nuno.
In the meantime, Mark Noble, Steve Potts, and Gerard Prendervell will take temporary charge of first-team preparations ahead of West Ham United’s EFL Championship fixture against Cardiff City on Tuesday evening.
The club added that it would make no further comments on the managerial situation until the appointment of a new head coach has been officially confirmed.
Nuno’s departure marks a significant change in West Ham United’s technical setup as the club looks to get its campaign back on track.
